Developing the essential skills and mindset students need to be workplace ready.

Preparing FE students for employment with Next Stage: specialist drama workshops for SEND.

Sign up to our mailing list below to find out more about projects for FE colleges.
Next Stage is delivered in FE colleges to learners with mild to moderate learning needs. Workshops use drama-based activities to complement existing programmes the young people are on, such as supported internships or employment preparation.

Learners will take part in a range of creative activities such as role-play, storytelling and puppetry, with an informal sharing at the end of the programme. The sessions build communication, collaboration and listening skills to develop their confidence for interviews, employment and leaving education.

The project includes

• Tickets to a West End show
• One week of Next Stage workshops in your college
• Visit to a theatre/arts workplace to learn about different jobs that are available in the arts and meet members of staff.

Key outcomes

The programme supports learners to develop skills in several key areas including:

• Creativity
• Communication
• Resilience
• Listening
• Team-playing
