Deaf Playmakers

Now in its 5th year, Playmakers is an exciting creative learning project for Deaf/deaf and hard of hearing pupils in Key Stage 2.

Across seven workshops, your pupils will work collaboratively with two Creative Practitioners (one Deaf, one hearing) to learn about all of the components of playwriting from character to location to plot.

What is it?

With support and guidance from the facilitators, the pupils will write / devise their very own 15 minute play. This play might be in English, BSL, SSE or a mix of all three!

At the end of the term with pupils will be invited to a West End theatre with the two other participating schools to watch their play being performed by a company of professional actors. The performances will be BSL / English interpreted.
