What a year it's been at Go Live Theatre...

We’ve created a handy round-up of just some of our 2025 programmes with videos we made to capture the joy that theatre can bring. Also you get to hear directly from the young people, teachers and families themselves! Enjoy.

PUNCH – EDUCATION MATINEE: Across two performances, in partnership with the producers, we welcomed 1146 young people from 34 schools and Alternative Provisions across 20 London boroughs and beyond. There were also Q&A sessions with the cast and creatives, plus Jacob Dunne and Joan Scourfield, the real-life individuals who inspired the play. Students connected deeply with the show’s themes of hope and humanity, and 95% of pupils expressed an interest in returning to the theatre again. Read more here.

GAREK THEATRE CAMP: Our reinvigorated new summer camp brought young people together from all over London! They explored drama, dance and music while devising their own original pieces of theatre – highlights included workshops with industry professionals, an insight into backstage careers, a special trip to see Hamilton and an opportunity to perform the piece they created at The Other Palace to friends and family. THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA RELAXED PERFORMANCE: In partnership with Kevin McCollum, David Furnish, Jamie Wilson and Nederlander Theatres, we hosted the first ever Relaxed Performance of The Devil Wears Prada! It was a truly joyful day at the Dominion Theatre as we welcomed families from across London and beyond to a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for those who may find the traditional theatre experience challenging. We’re incredibly grateful to The Garek Trust and The Noël Coward Foundation for making this possible. Read more here.

PLAYMAKERS: This ambitious three-step programme is designed to boost confidence, connections, literacy, and communication skills with a trip to see Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, four guided playwriting workshops to create their own plays and a thrilling performance of their mystery plays by professional actors (including Jordan Luke Gage) at the St. Martin’s Theatre – followed by a Q&A with the cast and director! We would like to thank our funders, Lehman Brothers Foundation Europe, for making this programme possible. Read more here.

FAMILY FIRST NIGHTS: Running throughout May 2025, and with support of ten of London’s leading West End shows, 335 families (from across 30 London boroughs and 14 areas outside the capital) were given the chance to experience the thrill, joy and magic of live theatre, many for the very first time. We would like to thank our funders, The Garek Trust, for making this programme possible. MATILDA THE MUSICAL – INCLUSIVE FAMILY DAYS: In collaboration with the Royal Shakespeare Company, we hosted two special Inclusive Family Days created for families with visually impaired and D/deaf  young people or those with special educational needs with each day designed to provide an inclusive and empowering introduction to live theatre. Huge thanks to our funders The Victoria Wood Foundation and London Freemasons’ Charity for making the weekend possible. Read more here.

TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL – EDUCATION MATINEE: On World Theatre Day, in partnership with Stage Entertainment and Nederlander Theatres, we welcomed 36 schools with over 60%  of the students attending the theatre for the very first time.
