On 19 April 2026 we collaborated with SIX to host an Inclusive Family Day for young people and families who are D/deaf or have special educational needs…
Our Inclusive Family Days enable an accessible and fun day for the whole family, where young people with similar experiences can connect.
Thanks to our generous funders we were able to offer 12 families a fully subsidised day of theatre experiences at £10 per person. This included a pre-show BSL interpreted workshop, a BSL interpreted touch tour at the Vaudeville Theatre and tickets to the Captioned matinee performance of SIX.
The day began with a pre-show workshop facilitated by Livvy Evans, supported by Megan Drabble and interpreted by Kerrion Miller and Pauline Mitchell. The workshop explored the themes, story and characters of SIX in a welcoming environment, aiming to build the confidence of the young people and bring the families together in a fun and inclusive setting.
This was followed by a BSL interpreted touch tour of the props and costumes. As well as the opportunity to meet some of the creative team!
The families then watched a Captioned Performance of SIX.
Go Live focused on targeting D/deaf young people or those who have special educational needs, and their families, who would most benefit from the Captioned performance. While also reaching those families who would love to take their young people to the theatre, but the budget or access is simply not there.
