The Devil Wears Prada – Relaxed Performance

Published: 24 Apr 2025
An inclusive and welcoming experience for those with learning difficulties, special educational needs and/or disabilities

On Saturday 7 June 2025 we held, in partnership with Kevin McCollum, David Furnish, Jamie Wilson and Nederlander Theatres, the first ever Relaxed Performance of The Devil Wears Prada!

Through this collaboration, we created a welcoming experience for children, young people and families with additional needs, neurodiversity and/or disabilities.

Many of those we work with are from disadvantaged and/or vulnerable backgrounds so a trip to the theatre might be out of reach, whether due to economic, physical or social barriers.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of The Garek Trust, tickets were made available at significantly subsidised prices, starting from £10 and up to £20, making this performance accessible and inclusive.

As with all Go Live Relaxed Performances, this one was carefully adapted to support neurodivergent audience members, including those on the autism spectrum and individuals with sensory or communication needs.

It offered a more laidback theatre experience for anyone who could benefit from this environment, with adjustments such as reduced sound levels and special effects, low-level lighting throughout, freedom of movement and noise within the auditorium. Specially trained front-of-house staff were also on hand to support anyone needing assistance.

One parent shared with us:

“Finally, we can pitch up and feel at home accessing the delights of the West End. Without anyone else batting an eyelid. To be honest I thought those days were long gone. Thank you Go Live for proving me wrong.”

Stay tuned – photos and videos from this wonderful day are coming soon!
