We work with schools across the UK and are here to make sure that every young person can connect with the transformative power of theatre, irrespective of their ability or background.

Primary Schools

Education Matinees

Go Live regularly organises Education Matinees for West End shows whereby the entire performance is given over to state school pupils at a heavily subsidised price, enabling young people to enjoy a show (many for the first time) in the company of their peers.

This safe and joyous environment helps to remove the mystique of theatre for many young people who may otherwise feel that they don’t “belong”. Many Education Matinees also run a workshop or post-show Q&A with the cast to enhance the experience for students.

Playmakers

A fun class project which uses the mystery genre to ignite creativity and develop literacy skills at Years 5 & 6.  Under the expert guidance of a professional Playwright, your pupils will work collaboratively to create their very own plays using a mix of theatre devising tools and traditional playwriting methods.

As part of the process, to inspire their creativity and imaginations, pupils will also enjoy a trip to see Agatha Christie’s iconic mystery play, The Mousetrap. And they’ll get to go back there for a second time – to see their plays performed live on stage by professional actors!

GO CREATE

An exciting, interactive programme for mainstream primary schools, designed for pupils in Years 5 and 6. Over the course of four weeks, students will work together to devise, write, and perform their very own original theatre piece inspired by a PSHE theme chosen by the school.

With guidance from a professional lead facilitator and assistant, the group will explore the topic through drama, storytelling and songwriting, culminating in a live performance featuring one original song or rap. The final piece will be performed in their school setting, celebrating the creativity and voices of the young people.

Secondary Schools

We deliver a range of educational programmes and workshops designed to meet the curriculum needs of your school.

Go Backstage

Aimed at introducing young people to the wide range of backstage and technical jobs in theatre, this is a career focused project for students with learning difficulties at mainstream secondary schools.

Students will work with a series of different theatre professionals who showcase the variety of roles available through in-school workshops. The groups will also attend a show in the West End and have a backstage tour of a theatre.

Creative Connections

Aimed at young people at risk of exclusion and alternative provision settings, this two-term programme explores hidden careers in the arts. Students will develop a devised performance showcased in a theatre venue, have industry talks and workshops and see two theatre productions. This will connect students with the theatre industry to open pathways to employment and create the next generation of theatre makers and creatives.

SEND Schools

We work with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools alongside theatres, expert practitioners and educators to create programmes and theatre trips that are suitable for young people with additional needs.

Playmakers Deaf

Playmakers Deaf is a unique, creative project that supports D/deaf young people in writing and shaping their own play. The programme begins by watching a BSL interpreted West End performance and then through a series of workshops, pupils work to generating ideas and developing characters, to crafting a script that integrates British Sign Language (BSL). The programme culminates in a professional performance of their play by a cast of Deaf actors on a West End stage.

This programme is designed to equip young people with an understanding of the playwriting process and across the term, increase their confidence, communication and creative expression.

Explore

This is a bespoke theatre workshop programme designed specifically for SEND Secondary Schools and led by experienced creative facilitators. Focussed on learning, fun, and creative discovery, the programme is a safe space that encourages play and expression.

Over five half-days, students will build key skills in confidence, communication, creative expression, teamwork, and collaboration. It's a full week of theatre and drama that delivers all the benefits without the pressure of a final performance.
